Canada gave a Kim’s Convenience shirt to South Korea at the G20 in Osaka

South Korean President Moon Jae-in was presented with a Kim’s Convenience T-shirt from Canada at the G20 in Osaka.

With a smile, Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland proudly held up the white shirt that sported the TV show’s logo as officials from both countries met.

Jae-in laughed and applauded the gift before shaking hands with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The Korean-Canadian sitcom debuted in January, airing two episodes per week on TV Chosun.

Kim’s Convenience star Simu Liu caught wind of the exchange and tweeted, “So apparently gave (President of South Korea) a Kim’s Convenience T shirt?!?!”
