Mean Girls actress Taylor Louderman will star in Kevin Kwan’s new comedy

Playbill reports that Taylor Louderman will star in The Emperor of Malibu, written by Crazy Rich Asians author Kevin Kwan.

Louderman is currently on Broadway in the musical adaptation of the 2004 film Mean Girls, which starred Lindsey Lohan.

Louderman will play a California lawyer named Kate who struggles with her fiancee’s family.

Thai actor Max Willems stars as Kate’s fiancee Auggie and Ken Jeong will play his billionaire father.

Andy Ackerman will direct the CBS pilot and Michelle Nader and Christina Lee will be showrunners.

“She conquered Broadway, but can she conquer the Shen family?” Kwan wrote in an Instagram post about Louderman. “I know you’re going to fall in love just like I did with the amazingly talented and funny @taylizlou, who steals the heart of Auggie Shen in “Emperor of Malibu.””
