BTS have become the first Korean artists to top the UK music chart

The Telegraph reports that Kpop group BTS have broken another record by becoming the first Korean artists to top the UK chart.

Released earlier this month, the group’s latest album titled Map of the Soul: Persona is BTS first ever UK number one album.

BTS will also be playing two sold out shows at London’s Wembley Stadium in June. Most recently they were the first Asian group to reach 5 billion streams on Spotify.

Last year, the South Korean group also made history as the first Korean band to enter the top 40 UK singles chart with ‘Idol’.

Map of the Soul: Persona has sold 26,500 copies so far with 68% of the sales being physical.

Earlier this month BTS was also recently listed as one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2019.

In other news, not too long ago, BTS fans rallied together to get a realtor fired for a “racist” tweet.
