Lana Condor has opened up about her eating disorders.

People reports that To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before star Lana Condor has talked about her eating disorders.

In an interview with Elle, Condor revealed she has struggled with body images in the past.

“I know what it’s like to have an eating disorder and body dysmorphia — and also what it’s like to be a friend to someone who has that,” the 21-year-old actress said.

For Condor, the problem stems from focusing on one body shape, forgetting that people need to eat. “I think it’s time to give people comfort,” she said. “You have to eat. You have to stop thinking that a certain body shape is ideal, because it’s not. That’s why I literally post about every meal I eat.”

Having experienced eating disorders, Condor now tries to prevent her friends from such problems by reminding them how beautiful they are. However, she still sees the pressures prevailing in her peers.

“I look at my friends, and I’m like, ‘You’re f——- gorgeous.’ But they feel like they’re fat and ugly,” she said. “I don’t know how this happened, that women feel like they need to apologize [for their physical imperfections].”

In other news, Condor has discussed Hollywood’s poor Asian American representation.
