Awkwafina’s new show will have an all-women’s writers’ room.

The Huffington Post reports that Crazy Rich Asians star Awkwafina will be penned by females.

The 10-episode series is aptly titled Awkwafina, that will feature “[her] father and my grandma, in a single family house, with many expired Asian Calendars,” according to a tweet from Awkwafina herself.

In a separate tweet, Awkwafina added that the series will have an “all female writers’ room” and will be an “ode to Queen.”

In November, Awkwafina said “I’ve been watching Comedy Central since I was old enough to hold a remote, and so many of their shows have defined who I am today.”

“I am so honored to be given their platform to tell the story of an Asian-American girl against the backdrop of the city [in which] I was raised.”

BD Wong will play Awkwafina’s father and Orange Is The New Black’s Lori Tan Chinn will play her grandmother. Saturday Night Live writer Bowen Yang will play Awkwafina’s cousin.

In other news, Ronny Chieng recently slammed People Magazine for misidentifying the cast of Crazy Rich Asians.
