Zhang Ziyi is boycotting Dolce & Gabbana products

Crouching Tiger star Zhang Ziyi is boycotting Dolce & Gabbana following its recent scandal.

Yesterday, the fashion brand found itself in hot water after releasing a ‘racist’ advert featuring a Chinese girl unable to use chopsticks to eat Italian food.

Dolce & Gabbana co-founder Stefano Gabbana defended the advert and engaged in confrontation with an Instagram user, to whom he said  “China Ignorant Dirty Smelling Mafia.”

The Italian company then claimed their Instagram accounts were hacked and canceled its ‘The Great Show’ in Shanghai, which was due to occur on 21 November.

On Weibo, Zhang said that the Italian brand had “disgraced itself.” Prior to Dolce & Gabbana cancelling their Shanghai fashion show, Zhang’s management confirmed she withdrew from the event.

She also posted the following image, which translates to “you dropped your shit, I’m returning it to you,” according to Shanghaiist. The 39-year-old Chinese actress added that she and her team will no longer use or buy Dolce & Gabbana products.
