Crazy Rich Asians gets 2018 release date

Crazy Rich Asians has been given a release date in 2018.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Crazy Rich Asians will be released on 17 August 2018.

Thee most recent star to join the cast was Ken JeongSilicon Valley‘s Jimmy O. Yang announced he would be joining the cast back in May.

Ex-Machina and La La Land actress Sonoya Mizuno was cast in April, and Michelle Yeoh was announced to star in March.

Taking the lead role is Fresh Off The Boat‘s Constance Wu, who plays Rachel Chu.

Based on Kevin Kwan’s hit novel with the same name, Crazy Rich Asians centres on the lives of wealthy Chinese families living in Singapore. The story follows Rachel Chu (Wu), an American-born Chinese economics professor who travels to Singapore for her boyfriend’s best friend’s wedding.

It quickly becomes apparent that her boyfriend Nick and his family are incredibly wealthy. Rachel soon realises that Nick may just be the most desirable bachelor in Asia and that every other single woman in his social class is jealous of her and wants to bring her down.
