The Daily Show’s correspondent Ronny Chieng has destroyed Fox News reporter Jesse Watters for his racist Chinatown segment in the most epic way.

Watters had caused serious offense to the Asian American community after producing a video that mocked Asian stereotypes in Chinatown, resulting in the community demanding an apology from the network.

In response, The Daily Show released a segment that not only demonstrated the political awareness of those in Chinatown that was otherwise ridiculed in the Fox News segment but also epically tore apart Jesse Watters in true Daily Show fashion.

Chieng, a Malaysian Chinese dissected Watters’ segment, highlighting how ridiculous the clip was.

Chieng even highlighted how ridiculous the inspiration was for the segment,  “they say China in the debates so you send someone to Chinatown in New York? When they mention Mexico, do you send someone to Taco Bell?” It’s not long before

It’s not long before Chieng turns the tables on Fox News and says, “they’ve [China and Chinatown] nothing to do with each other. That’s like if they brought up women’s rights so I decide to go onto Fox News to get some opinions.”

“Actually it’s the year of go fuck yourself!”

Chieng then expressed anger at Watters’ inability to distinguish between the Asian races, saying, “if you’re going to be racist at least get your stereotypes right you ignorant sack of shit – karate isn’t Chinese, it’s Japanese and you’re doing it in a Taekwondo studio which is Korean!”

Chieng also wasn’t happy that Watters used references to Pat Morita’s Miyagi character from the original Karate Kid, saying “that’s like me making fun of Americans for Saturday Night Fever and Mr. T!”

The Daily Show reporter even gave suggestions to Watters for targeting Chinese people properly, “if you want to come at Chinese people, make fun of China’s high pollution or the fact that they censor most of the internet, which in this case may actually be a good thing, as no person from China will have to watch your garbage attempt at comedy.”

Chieng then touched upon one of the most controversial parts of Watters’ segment in which he interviewed elderly Chinese people who clearly could not speak English, humiliating them in the process.

“Hey asshole, they don’t speak English, that’s why they’re silent.”

Chieng then delves into a personal attack on Watters saying, “It’s easy to make fun of someone who can’t respond. Here, I’ll show you.” The reporter then displays pictures of Watters whilst saying, “hey douchebag, why do you look like a guy who carries around roofies just in case? And why do you look like you have hookers on speed dial? And follow up question, is it hard to fit Bill O’Reilly’s entire scrotum in your mouth?”

The Daily Show segment then takes a more serious tone, as Chieng takes to the streets of Chinatown to interview people in Chinese about the election, demonstrating that Asian Americans “do have genuine thoughts on this year’s election”.

“America/ China relations are very important. We used to say China was a friend. Now we’re saying it’s an adversary. That’s very dangerous,” one interviewee said in Mandarin, before revealing that she knows so much about politics because she’s from Queens.

The entire Daily Show segment holds a big middle finger up to Fox News and will undoubtedly be welcomed by the Asian American community.
