Ex California governor and former Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to star in a blockbuster film to promote Chinese culture.

The 3D film, The Guest of Shanxingdui, has an initial investment of $200 million.

Schwarzenegger has also become an ambassador for the prehistoric Shanxingdui ruins that will feature in the film, meaning that he will be the spokesperson for the site.

The actor visited the Sanxingdui museum on 24 October.

The film will start shooting in March 2017 and will be released in 2019.

Schwarzenegger will produce as well as star in the film. The Austrian-American movie star said that the film would be made as an international story to introduce a global audience to Shanxingdui’s culture.

Shanxingdui is located in Guanghan City, in China’s Sichuan Province. The Shanxingdui Ruins are the remnants of the Shu Kingdom that disappeared 3000 years ago.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is also set to host the Celebrity Apprentice, which starts on Monday 2 January 2017 on NBC.
