Firefighters are tackling a fire that broke out in central London’s Chinatown.

The fire began in a four-storey building in the area. The London Fire Brigade has said that 20% of the basement as well as the kitchen were alight. The building, which is located in Gerrard Place, houses a restaurant and flats.

Witnesses have reported seeing thick smoke coming from the building.

Firefighters have been equipped with two hoses, breathing apparatus and a thermal camera to fight through the smoke and tackle the fire.

London Ambulance Service has said that no one has been reported injured or has required treatment as of yet.
