Lai Wa Wu is the Lead Youth Organizer for Chinese Progressive Association (CPA) and their Youth Movement of Justice and Organizing (Youth MOJO) and Gender and Sexuality Diversities (GSD) programs. CPA educates, organizes, and empowers low income and working class immigrant Chinese adult and youth communities to build collective power with other oppressed communities and demand better living and working conditions and justice for all people. Through grassroots political education and campaign organizing, we work on social issues affecting our youth such as health justice, education justice, immigration justice by empowering folks to work towards positive change in our communities. Prior to CPA, Lai Wa organized with other groups including Asian Pacific Environmental Network in East Bay, AFSCME's Child Care Providers United, and Student Immigrant Movement in Massachusetts.
