CTV News reports that police are investigating a woman who hurled racist abuse at an Asian woman in a Richmond, Vancouver parking lot.

Caught on camera, the caucasian woman is heard saying to the Asian woman, “we don’t want you here because you can’t drive.”

Fang Xu said his wife, who was behind the camera, had finished shopping with their three-year-old daughter when she noticed the caucasian woman’s car was touching her’s.

When Xu’s wife tells her that she had parked her car across the parking bay line, the woman mocked her by blowing a raspberry.

The caucasian woman then said, “go back to China where you belong, fucking asshole. Chinky chinky China lady.”

Xu told CTV that his wife kept her cool because her daughter was there. “My daughter was there, so my wife didn’t want to argue with her,” Xu said.

Although their car was not damaged too much, the family were more concerned about the woman’s words.

“We are not upset about (damage),” he said. “We are angry about what she said.”

Richmond RCMP are investigating the matter.

“In order to ensure the integrity of the investigation and privacy of the individuals involved, we are asking the public to respect the investigative process and refrain from posting any comments on social media,” said Insp. Sunny Parmar, operations officer for Richmond RCMP.

Police are asking members of the public with information about the incident to contact them at 604-207-1212. The dispute occurred at the Richlea Square Shopping Centre on No. 3 Road.
