‘Crazy Rich Asians’ lead Henry Golding to star in ‘G.I. Joe’ spinoff ‘Snake Eyes’

THR reports Crazy Rich Asians actor Henry Golding will star in G.I. Joe spinoff Snake Eyes.

Snake Eyes is a ninja commando who one of the most popular characters of the original G.I. Joe team. He also had solo missions with hist pet wolf Timber against his nemesis Storm Shadow.

Ray Park played the character in 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and 2013’s G.I Joe: Retaliation.

The spinoff will focus on Snake Eyes seeking revenge for his father’s death by joining a ninja clan.

Evan Spiliotopoulos wrote the script for the film whilst Robert Schwentke will direct and Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner will produce.
