HBO will develop an Asian American dark comedy titled KTown.

As reported by Deadline, HBO will develop KTown – an Asian American dark comedy starring Greta Lee and Jason Kim.

Lee and Kim, who both wrote the script, will star in the comedy about LA’s Koreatown and its kingpin family.

Lee will play Yumi, the daughter of the Kang family, who reconnects with her Korean roots as she becomes a powerful Korean American woman.

Annapurna TV’s Megan Ellison, Sue Naegle, Ali Krug and Susan Goldberg will executive produce with Lee and Kim.

Kim is currently a producer for HBO’s Barry and was a consulting producer for Love on Netflix. He also wrote K-Pop: The Musical, which opened in 2017 to positive reviews and sold out crowds at the Ars Nova, New York.

Lee appeared in St. Vincent, Sisters and Money Monster, The Good Fight and Chance.
