Logan Kim is reuniting with Steven Yeun on screen, and once again he is playing his son. Netflix has cast Kim as Nate, the teenage son of Yeun’s character Gus, in its upcoming supernatural drama Pagans from Say Nothing creator Joshua Zetumer.
For The Walking Dead fans, the casting carries a poignant full-circle quality. Kim previously played Hershel Rhee, the son of Yeun’s Glenn Rhee, in AMC’s The Walking Dead: Dead City. Glenn died before Hershel was born in the flagship series, making Pagans the first time Steven Yeun and Logan Kim will share the screen as an actual father and son.

Pagans follows Gus (Yeun), a father who becomes the sole caretaker of his two children after the tragic loss of his wife. The series is described as an emotional, frightening and darkly funny exploration of the darkest thoughts families can harbour.
Kim’s Nate is well liked and dependable, but often overlooked at home after growing up in the shadow of his younger sister, Alice. Alice will be played by Sabine Grace in her television debut. She is the family’s black sheep, withdrawn from the world and increasingly central to the show’s sinister turn.
The reunion is especially meaningful because Hershel was born after Glenn’s death in The Walking Dead. Kien Michael Spiller played the character as a child, before Kim took over as teenage Hershel in Dead City.
In Pagans, however, Gus and Nate are alive, together and navigating grief as a family. It is a striking contrast to the tragedy that separated Glenn and Hershel in the zombie apocalypse.

Netflix has also added Marin Ireland and Intae Kim to the cast. Ireland will play Janelle, a single mother trying to connect with her strong-willed 14-year-old daughter, Jade. Intae Kim will play Casey, Gus’s younger brother and an ever-willing, if underappreciated, source of family support.
Zetumer will serve as showrunner and executive producer, with Yeun also executive producing through Celadon Pictures alongside Christina Oh. Drew Goddard and Sarah Esberg of Goddard Textiles, Jonathan van Tulleken and Erica Kay are also among the executive producers.
Pagans has been ordered straight to series by Netflix, but does not yet have a release date.
