Netflix has confirmed that its runaway Korean medical hit The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call will return for both Season 2 and Season 3, with production already underway on the consecutive chapters.
The double-season renewal follows a huge international run in 2025. During its first season, the hospital thriller entered the Top 10 rankings across 63 countries and climbed to the Number One spot in 18 regions worldwide.
Ju Ji-hoon (Kingdom) reprises his role as Baek Kang-hyuk, the uncompromising genius trauma surgeon who challenges hospital bureaucracy to keep patients alive.
Choo Young-woo (The Tale of Lady Ok) steps back into the emergency ward as Yang Jae-won, Kang-hyuk’s first protégé who chose to stand by his mentor on the frontline trauma team.

Familiar Faces Return to the Operating Theatre
The main medical unit stays intact for the upcoming episodes.
Yoon Kyung-ho (Husbands in Action) returns as Han Yu-rim. Once Kang-hyuk’s chief institutional rival, Han now serves as his primary partner and heads the planning and coordination team at Hankuk National University Hospital.
Jeong Jae-kwang (Take Charge of My Heart) returns as the squad’s go-to anesthesiologist, Park Gyeong-won.

The production has also added fresh talent to the emergency staff. Newcomer Jeong Ye-in joins the ensemble as nurse Cheon Jang-mi, winning the role through what the production described as a “rigorous audition process.”

Webtoon Adaptation Expands the Golden Hour
Director Lee Do-yun, who directed the first run, returns to lead both new seasons and takes over full scriptwriting duties.
Co-produced by Studio N and Mays Entertainment, the live-action series adapts the popular digital webtoon Trauma Center: Golden Hour.
The upcoming storylines push the trauma unit into higher-stakes emergency situations, showing Kang-hyuk expanding his specialised medical response network while managing tighter clinical crises.
Both returning cast members continue to headline Netflix’s broader Korean slate this month. Jeong stars in the romance series Take Charge of My Heart, which launched on 9 October, while Yoon appears in the supernatural workplace series Dead-End Job opposite Lee Jae-wook, premiering on 30 October.
Netflix will stream Seasons 2 and 3 exclusively worldwide, with release dates to be confirmed.
