Twitch has issued an immediate suspension to popular internet personality ExtraEmily following a dangerous distracted driving incident during a live broadcast. A video clip showing the creator nearly colliding with another vehicle went viral across X, Reddit, and Instagram forcing the streaming platform to take disciplinary action.

Visitors to her official page are now met with a default message stating that the channel is temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines.

A Terrifying Distraction on Camera

The near-miss occurred roughly one hour and twenty-five minutes into an outdoor mobile broadcast while Emily was navigating a busy intersection. As she attempted to make a left turn, an oncoming Mazda SUV advanced from the opposite direction. Video footage indicates that the streamer was looking down at her mobile phone screen rather than focusing on the road ahead.

The driver of the SUV blasted their horn to alert her to the incoming vehicle, allowing Emily to veer away just moments before a head-on collision could take place. Although the incident did not result in any physical injuries or vehicular damage, the creator acknowledged the severe error immediately on camera.

“Oh, sorry! My bad! That was my bad. I’ve got to check my… whoopsies!” Emily said during the live feed. She explicitly thanked the other motorist for sounding their horn, admitting that the alert helped prevent a serious accident.

Later in the transmission, she attempted to explain the situation to her viewers, stating that she had been utilising her Tesla’s Autopilot function for the majority of the trip but had disabled the feature shortly before the near-miss occurred.

Strict Enforcement of Streaming Rules

Twitch maintains an absolute zero-tolerance policy regarding hazardous behaviour behind the wheel. The platform’s safety regulations specifically state that operating a vehicle while interacting with a digital broadcast is never acceptable if it removes your eyes from the road or your hands from the steering wheel. The guidelines explicitly bar creators from reading chat text or adjusting camera equipment while a vehicle is in motion.

This suspension marks the second time the creator has faced a penalty for dangerous driving habits. In April 2025, Twitch handed her a one-day ban after a separate broadcast showed her driving through a red traffic light while monitoring her phone.

While Emily confirmed to her followers on Discord that the current restriction stems directly from distracted driving, the exact duration of the penalty remains unknown. Twitch management does not issue public comments regarding individual account suspensions.
