Kelly Hu has officially joined the cast of the Netflix drama Untamed. She joins the series for its second season, starring alongside Eric Bana and fellow new addition Shea Whigham.
Hu is best known for her roles as Lady Deathstrike in the X-Men films and the Sorceress in The Scorpion King. She recently appeared in the series Black Mafia Family and the Netflix film Finding ‘Ohana
The second season shifts the action from the forests of Yosemite to the volatile landscape of Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. Eric Bana returns as Kyle Turner, a special agent for the National Parks Service who investigates crimes in the American wilderness.

The new episodes find Turner out of his element as he tries to solve a suspicious death. Hu will play Awapuhi, a woman born and raised on the Big Island. Her character returns home to face her past after the tragic death of her son.
Hu’s character is not the only one dealing with loss. Shea Whigham joins the main cast as Ray Burkart, a local businessman whose son has also been killed.

Burkart is expected to clash with Turner as they both search for the person responsible. Showrunners Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith say the new setting is designed to keep the lead character on his back foot.
“We’re putting Kyle on his back foot, making him very uncomfortable,” Mark L. Smith explained. “This time we get to follow Turner into a park and let him lead us, and we stumble along with him as he’s finding his way.”
Production and release
Unlike the first season, which used British Columbia as a stand-in for California, the new season will be filmed on location in Hawaii. The season will consist of six episodes.
