Simu Liu is making his Broadway debut in the hit comedy Oh, Mary! next year.

Liu joins the production as “Mary’s Teacher” beginning Tuesday, February 3, with performances scheduled through Tuesday, April 21. The show will continue at the Lyceum Theatre, where Oh, Mary! opened July 11, 2024.

The production also announced extensions for current cast members John-Andrew Morrison (“Mary’s Husband”), Jenn Harris (“Mary’s Chaperone”), and Tony Macht (“Mary’s Husband’s Assistant”), who will remain with the company through April 26.

As previously announced, Tony and Obie Award-winning actor, writer, and director John Cameron Mitchell will join as “Mary Todd Lincoln” beginning February 3 for performances through April 26.

Producers say it became the first show in the Lyceum Theatre’s 121-year history to gross more than $1,000,000 in a single week, later breaking its own record multiple times and becoming the first show of the 2024–25 Broadway season to recoup its investment.

Beyond the stage announcement, Liu’s recent career highlights include leading Destin Daniel Cretton’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, starring across five seasons of Kim’s Convenience, and appearing in Warner Bros.’ Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig.
