BLACKPINK’s Rosé is giving fans an unexpected peek behind the scenes of her massive collaboration with Bruno Mars, “APT.” The star revealed that despite their seemingly perfect on-screen chemistry, the duo had a major disagreement just before filming their widely viewed music video.
The Pre-Shoot Clash
In a new chat with Vogue, Rosé, 28, was asked to share a story about her and Mars, 40, that “no one else knows.” She then dropped the surprising detail about the clash.
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this but… I had the biggest fight with Bruno right before the music video shoot,” Rosé disclosed.

She quickly assured fans that the drama was short-lived, confirming that they resolved the issue before the cameras rolled. Rosé noted that she and Bruno “made up on set, so it was alright… Oh my God, he’s gonna kill me. Let’s not fight. Let’s be friends.”
Fans React to the On-Screen Tension
The revelation has sent fans back to the “APT.” music video, where one particular scene is now being re-examined. The moment shows Rosé singing enthusiastically with her arm around a seemingly stern-faced Mars, who stares into the camera with an annoyed, yet amused, look.
Fans immediately connected the scene to the pre-shoot fight, suggesting the tension was still visible. One user commented that the scene “has the vibes of siblings who had a fight and just made up.” Another wrote, “Rewatched the music video… Yeah, he broke the fourth wall to show that he is NOT happy. The music video makes so much more sense now!”

Chart Dominance Continues
The lighthearted drama hasn’t slowed down the song’s success. “APT.,” the lead single from Rosé’s 2024 solo album Rosie, has become a global pop behemoth.
The track recently hit over two billion views on YouTube in 10 months and was the fastest K-pop song to surpass one billion streams on Spotify. The achievement comes just after Rosé became the first-ever Korean act to win Song of the Year at the MTV VMAs for the hit.
Rosé also shared that her life remains busy, revealing that New York City is one of her favorite places to visit, but she still insisted, “I think it’s pretty criminal to say New York when I’m in New York. I do like it, yeah.”
