Hulu has unveiled the official trailer and key art for Tempest, its upcoming Korean original series. The spy thriller, which premieres on September 10, promises to deliver a high-stakes story of political intrigue and global espionage.

The series is headlined by an international cast, including South Korean stars Gianna Jun and Gang Dongwon, alongside American actors John Cho and Michael Gaston. It centers on a multinational conspiracy that is set into motion by an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate.

A Confounding Web of Betrayal

The newly released trailer provides a glimpse into the show’s action-packed premise. It follows Seo Munju (Gianna Jun), a skilled former diplomat, as she finds herself at the heart of an investigation.

Munju’s pursuit of the truth behind the assassination attempt exposes a complex web of deception and state secrets. She learns that the candidate was accused of being a North Korean spy, a revelation that leads her to open a “Pandora’s box of deception, state secrets and more.”

As Munju gets closer to the truth, she is forced to work with Paik Sanho (Gang Dongwon), a highly trained mercenary with a suspicious past. Their journey through the international conspiracy puts Munju’s life in danger.

Elite Talent Behind the Camera

‘Tempest’ features an elite creative team. The series is directed by Kim Heewon of the hit series ‘Queen of Tears’ and ‘Vincenzo.’ She is joined by co-director Heo Myeonghaeng, Korea’s leading martial arts director. The screenplay was written by Chung Seokyung, who also wrote ‘Decision to Leave’ and ‘Little Women.’

The series will launch with three episodes on September 10 on Hulu in the U.S., with international viewers able to watch on Disney+. Following the premiere, new episodes will be released weekly, culminating in a two-part finale.
