Netflix is set to brighten our screens this spring with the release of When Life Gives You Tangerines, a new K-drama starring K-pop sensation IU and heartthrob Park Bo-gum.  The series, which premieres on 7 March, follows the lives of Ae-sun (IU) and Gwan-sik (Park Bo-gum) across four seasons on the picturesque Jeju Island.

The show promises a nostalgic and emotional journey, with early promotional images showing the pair in school uniforms against a backdrop of vibrant canola fields.  “When Life Gives You Tangerines promises to bring warmth to your spring days with its authentic, relatable stories that reflect the different stages of life throughout the seasons,” Netflix announced in a press release.

Director Kim Won-suk, known for his critically acclaimed work on “Misaeng: Incomplete Life” and “My Mister,”  teams up with screenwriter Lim Sang-choon of “When the Camellia Blooms” fame.  This creative pairing, alongside the star power of IU and Park Bo-gum, has already generated significant buzz online. Fans on social media are “not ready for it,” with many predicting it will be “the best drama of the year.”
