‘Culinary Class Wars’ Season 2 Confirmed: Netflix’s Hit Korean Cooking Show Returns

Netflix has officially announced the return of Culinary Class Wars for a second season, following the immense success of its debut season. The show, which captivated viewers with its unique blend of high-stakes competition and culinary artistry, made history as the first Korean unscripted title to claim the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list for three consecutive weeks.

“We’re delighted to announce the production of Culinary Class Wars Season 2, driven by the incredible fan response both in Korea and around the world,” said KiHwan Yoo, Director of Content at Netflix Korea. “Bringing a show of this scale to life requires immense effort, and we’re deeply grateful for the love and enthusiasm we’ve received so far.”

The show’s producers echoed this sentiment, stating, “We’re extremely grateful to the viewers. Because of them, we’re able to come back for Season 2. We will do our best to return the love and fulfill expectations.”

Culinary Class Wars distinguished itself from traditional cooking competitions through its innovative format, featuring 100 chefs divided into “White Spoons” (established culinary figures) and “Black Spoons” (rising talents). The contestants faced a series of rigorous challenges, judged by renowned figures Paik Jong-won and Chef Anh Sung-jae, pushing the boundaries of culinary creativity and skill.

Beyond its entertainment value, the show has significantly impacted the Korean food industry. As one contestant, Chef Choi Hyun-seok, noted, “I’m grateful that this programme has brought attention to the Korean food industry.” The show has sparked renewed interest in the restaurants of participating chefs and highlighted the diversity and richness of Korean cuisine.
