Lucy Liu Stars in Xmas Comedy ‘Red One’ Alongside Dwayne Johnson

Lucy Liu has been cast in the upcoming Christmas comedy film, Red One, which also stars Dwayne Johnson, JK Simmons and Chris Evans.

The plot is based on a story by Hiram Garcia — the president of production of Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions, and the producer of Johnson vehicles Black AdamJungle Cruise, and Red Notice. Details have been kept tightly wrapped but the film is being described as a “big, fun, action-packed and fresh new take on Christmas.”

When ELF Task Force commander, Callum Drift (Johnson) is charged with rescuing Santa (Simmons) after his abduction from the North Pole Complex, Zoe (Liu) recruits legendary tracker and level 4 Naughty Lister, Jack O’Malley (Evans) to help find Santa before December 24th to save Christmas.

The team will encounter E.L.F. Agent Garcia (Reinaldo Faberlle), a talking polar bear, sword-wielding Snowman, and a goat-like creature. Bonnie Hunt, Kiernan Shipka, Nick Kroll, Marc Evan Jackson, and Kristofer Hivju also star.

Amazon MGM Studios will release RED ONE theatrically in the US on 15 November 2024 and worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures internationally this November.
