The Try Guys, the YouTube sensations known for their willingness to, well, try anything, are embarking on a new adventure as founding member Eugene Lee Yang departs and the group launches their own streaming service, 2nd Try TV.

In an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone, the remaining Try Guys, Keith Habersberger and Zach Kornfeld, shared the bittersweet news of Yang’s departure.

“Part of this is bittersweet,” Kornfeld said. “We’re gonna miss working with Eugene. He has been one of the true collaborators of both of our lives. But we’ve had a long time to process this. So we’re very excited for him, very excited for us, and just feeling very energized by this whole moment.”

Despite the loss, they expressed excitement for Yang’s future endeavours. As Habersberger added, “Eugene leaving is something that is sort of necessary for us to keep moving forward. Things change.”

The group’s new streaming service, 2nd Try TV, is a significant step in its evolution. Kornfeld highlighted their desire to create content that aligns with their and their audience’s tastes, unconstrained by the YouTube algorithm. While their YouTube channel will remain active, 2nd Try TV promises exclusive content, live streams, and new programs from a fresh cast of creators.

Kornfeld emphasized their commitment to their loyal fans, stating, “Look, we’ve done our drama once. I don’t want to do it again. It was very clear to us from the beginning that for this to work, you cannot take away from your audience. You have to give more.”

Yang, who will appear in the upcoming season of The Try Guys, is set to address his departure in a video. Fans can expect the remaining duo to continue pushing boundaries and trying new things as they enter this exciting new chapter.
