The search for love is heating up! Jenn Tran, a physician assistant student and fan favorite from Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor, has officially been announced as the leading lady for Season 21 of The Bachelorette. This marks a groundbreaking moment for the franchise as she becomes the first Asian American Bachelorette.

Tran expressed her excitement about the upcoming season: “I’m looking for someone who has a really big personality. I’m all about having fun, all about having that cheeky banter.” She also shared the significance of her role in terms of representation: 

“It’s honestly incredible and I feel so, so grateful and so honored to be the first Asian Bachelorette in this franchise. Growing up, I’ve always wanted to see Asian representation on TV…anytime Asians were in the media it was to fill a supporting character role, to fulfill some sort of stereotype and I always felt boxed in by that.”

Described by ABC as “sweet and compassionate”, the bilingual Vietnamese beauty from Miami loves reading, paddle boarding, and travelling. Fans can expect Tran’s search for love to unfold on “The Bachelorette” this summer on ABC and Hulu, but an official premiere date is yet to be announced.
