Chink, the controversial AAPI serial killer, is set to be released on Chinese New Year Day – 10 February 2024. Also known as #1 Serial Killer, the film will be released on Asian American Movies (AAM.tv) with its original title, Chink.

Starring Jason Tobin and co-starring Tzi Ma, the film originally premiered in 2013 at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival in which Tobin won a Breakthrough Performance by an Actor Award. Chink also won Best Thriller Feature Film at Burbank International Film Festival.

Chink follows hate-filled Chinese American, Eddy Tsai (Tobin), who starts to idolize serial killers such as Ted Bundy until he becomes one himself. The film is known for confronting race, sexuality, and gender head-on, and is the first provocative feature directed by Stanley Yung, written by Koji Steven Sakai and produced by Quentin Lee.

“It’s time for the so-called ‘model minority’ stereotype to die. Take some dynamite and a blowtorch and blow it out of the water. Chink is a slasher movie with a message,” says director Yung.

“Re-releasing Chink this Chinese New Year perfectly symbolizes the uncomfortably ambiguous relationship we all have with China,” says Quentin Lee, Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Asian American Movies (AAM.tv).
