‘Crazy Rich Asians’ author Kevin Kwan secures film deal for ‘Sex And Vanity’

Crazy Rich Asians author Kevin Kwan has sealed a movie deal for his latest novel Sex And Vanity.

Sony Pictures has picked up Kwan’s novel for a feature film presentation.

Described as an Asian American take on E.M. Forster’s A Room With A View, Kwan’s new novel is a departure from Crazy Rich Asians.

Sex And Vanity focuses on mixed-race Asian American Lucie Tang Churchill who comes from an upper-class family who battles two lovers and two cultures.

A Room With A View was also adapted into a film starring Helena Bonham Carter in 1985

Crazy Rich Asians grossed almost $240 million worldwide with a production budget of $30 million.
