Asian American manager Rich Cho has been announced as the Memphis Grizzlies new Vice President

WMC 5 reports that the Memphis Grizzlies have appointed an Asian American manager as their new Vice President.

Burma native Rich Cho most recently served as the general manager of the Charlotte Hornets and has over 20 years Front Office experience.

Cho became the first Asian American general manager in American major league sports in 2010-11 as the GM for the Portland Trail Blazers.

The 53-year-old also served as Assistant GM of the Oklahoma City Thunder for 10 years including when it was known as the Seattle SuperSonics.

In related news, Toronto Raptors point guard Jeremy Lin recently said “it kind of sucks” being the only Asian American player in the NBA.
