Harry Shum Jr has won the People’s Choice Award.

As reported by E! NewsShadowhunters star Harry Shum Jr has won the People’s Choice Award.

Fans voted for the Chinese American actor over Grey’s Anatomy’s Justin Chambers, The Good Doctor’s Freddie Highmore, The Walking Dead’s Andrew Lincoln and Riverdale’s Cole Sprouse.

In his acceptance speech, Shum referenced the support he has received from his fans through fan mail.

“Over the past three years I’ve been on Shadowhunters I’ve been very lucky to get a lot of great fan mail,” Shum said. “Some are funny, some are ‘dear Harry I know you like to put pineapple on your pizza, do you really? Be honest. Don’t say yes.'”

He explained how the fan mail reflects the support and inspiration for the show as well. “To really inspiring fan mail appreciating our show and how much our characters have affected you and also reminding you that love knows no bounds,” Shum said.

Finally, Shum thanked his co-stars, voters and his wife Shelby Rabara.

“It means so much to me that you wrote me into this category with these wonderful amazing actors,” the 36-year-old actor said. “Thank you for blessing me with your votes. Thank you for my cast and my beautiful wife who is my blessed too today. This means the world that it is coming from you, the people, the fans.”
