A group of Japanese samurai sword wielders are taking to the streets to combat litter.

According to Kotaku, Japanese samurai sword group Isse Ichidai Jidaigumi are Tokyo’s and Hokkaido’s vigilantes against litter.

Sporting traditional Japanese outfits, the group patrol the streets of Japan, searching for litter. When they encounter their foe, the group uses their agile samurai techniques to pick up the trash and throw it away.

The group also sings and dances at events, as well as performs sword shows whilst tidying up the streets. Based in Hokkaido and Tokyo, the group’s Hokkaido branch even has a CD released with one track called ‘Trash Time’.
