A British man has been arrested for kicking his Thai wife to death.

According to The Telegraph, Kevin Smitham, 51, stamped on his wife Kandra, 29, after she “refused to have sex” on Sunday.

Police claim Smitham attacked his wife, covered her body and went to bed.

“I arrived and found a woman lying naked in front of the house and called officials from the rescue foundation,” Inspector General Watcharapol Pimwong said. “There were many bruises on the face and body. She had been dead for several hours.”

The incident occurred in the Det Udom district of Ubon Ratchathani. Smitham, his wife and two children had been staying with Mrs Smitham’s parents for the Songkran New Year festival.

Police added that the couple had been drinking beer until 9pm when everyone else left. Mr Smitham suspected his wife was having an affair after she refused to have sex with him.

“The wife ran away from home and fell in front of the house. He left his wife like that by covering the blanket. Then went to bed,” said Mr Pimwong.

The family had lived in the popular beach resort of Pattaya on the east coast. Mrs Smitham was a fitness enthusiast who had amassed over 28,000 followers on Facebook.
