A racist slogan has been found on a movie sign for Black Panther at a US marine base in Japan.

The Marine Corps are currently investigating an incident involving a racist slur found at a movie theatre at Camp Hansen in Japan.

On a sign outside the theatre for Black Panther, letters on the board were rearranged to spell out “Phat Black N****r”. The film was scheduled for a 3 p.m. screening according to the Army and Air Force Exchange Service website

In a statement, the Marine Corps said,  “Marine Corps Installations Pacific is aware of an incident that occurred aboard Camp Hansen involving the posting of a racial slur on an AAFES marquee.”

“Such actions and language are in direct contradiction to the core values of honor, courage, and commitment that we stand for as United States Marines. This type of behavior is not tolerated by the Marine Corps.”
