Jack Ma will star alongside Jet Li and Donnie Yen in kung fu movie Gongshoudao.

The Business Insider reports that Jack Ma has secured a starring role in the short film Gongshoudao, which translates to “The Art of Attack and Defence.”

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘s Donnie Yen will also star, as well as martial art film veteran Jet Li, who will produce the film.

None of the actors in the film will take a pay check from it.

The Alibaba CEO will be seen practising Tai chi in the film – a traditional Chinese martial art that he has been studying since 1988.

Alibaba spokeswoman said: “As a passionate Tai-chi practitioner, Jack took part in the movie to promote this traditional Chinese martial art as well as the positive philosophy it embodies.”

“He believes the spiritual and physical benefits of tai chi should be shared across the world and used to promote exercise and wellness and cultural exchanges among people of different cultures.”

Ma posted the film’s promotional poster with the caption “That night… That dream!”.

Co-star Jet Li also tweeted an image of Ma with other co-star Tony Jaa.

Gongshoudao will be released on 11 November and will be available on Chinese video platform Youku.

Ma is currently the second richest man in China with a net worth of $28.3 billion.

In other news, Jack Ma performed a Michael Jackson-inspired dance to celebrate Alibaba’s 18th birthday.
