A man in China was spotted violently attacking his father’s mistress in public.

Shanghaiist reports that the incident occurred in Henan, one day before Chinese Valentine’s Day.

Seen in the video, the man drags a woman into the middle of the road, kicking her in the stomach and whacking her on the head. He then curses at her and drags her by the hair to the side of the street before continuing his assault.

Crowds are seen around the pair but no one appears to intervene.

Eyewitnesses claim the woman receiving the beating is the mistress of the assaulter’s father. He was allegedly blaming her for his parent’s divorce.

Shanghaiist states that Yuzhou police are attempting to mediate the situation.
