To mark Weekly Playboy’s 50th anniversary, the adult magazine is offering fans a chance to drink and dine with some of their most famous gravure models in Tokyo.

Weekly Playboy, AKA Shupure, is a weekly magazine dating back to 1966. Featuring pictures of nude female models, news, comics and interviews, the magazine has a legacy in the Japanese adult industry.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Weekly Playboy is hosting a new bar called Shupure Bar, where customers can drink and dine with their favourite gravure models.

Located in Kabukicho, Tokyo’s red light district, the bar dons a red and black theme, decorated with images from the publication.

Fans of Japanese food will feel at home here, with staples such as tuna sashimi and karaage fried chicken on offer. However, the food at the Shupure Bar isn’t the highlight of the menu.

Whilst a dish of tuna sashimi will cost 1,600 yen, a VIP Charge of 10,000 yen will secure customers one of only five seats at the bar where models will be working. The price also includes a set meal of four dishes and has an hour time limit.

Popular gravure models Hikaru Aoyama, Yuka Kuramochi and Nanoka attended the opening of the bar, giving customers a flavour of what’s to come.

The bar has a rotating roster of models who will host each month, with the four models below serving the month of June.

The Shupure Bar is open for one year, starting on 10 June.
