South Korean actor Ji Chang Son has filed a lawsuit against car company Tesla after his Model X SUV allegedly accelerated spontaneously whilst he was parking in his garage.

Ji claimed the Model X SUV crashed through his living room, destroying the wall and injuring his son who was a passenger in the car at the time.

Ji posted photographs of the crash to his Facebook page.

The South Korean actor is filing a class action lawsuit, seeking financial payment and for Tesla to acknowledge the car was at fault.
A spokesperson from Gizmodo said that the actor threatened to use his celebrity status in Korea to hurt Tesla” unless the automaker “agreed to make a financial payment and acknowledge that the vehicle accelerated on its own.”
Tesla has responded by saying,  “The evidence clearly shows the vehicle was not at fault. Our policy is to stand by the evidence and not to give in to ultimatums.”
Ji insisted that if his living room wall was concrete instead of wood, he could have died in the car crash.
“The evidence, including data from the car, conclusively shows that the crash was the result of Mr. Son pressing the accelerator pedal all the way to 100 per cent,” said Tesla.
