The creator of hit Korean television shows Goblin, Descendants of the Sun, and Heirs has revealed news about her next projects.

Kim Eun Sook earned incredible success with Descendants of the Sun and this year’s Goblin but it seems like she is already ready to begin work on new projects.

According to Koreaboo, the Goblin writer said in an interview, “to start, I am going to have a 3-month vacation, resting period. After resting, I will start to work towards my next project and will be aiming to complete it by the first half of next year.”

“I’ve always had an interest in historic dramas and through “Goblin” – I kind of feel that I have experimented enough to actually do a full historic drama as my next project.”

Goblin ended with the highest ratings ever, with its final episode receiving an average viewer rating of 20.5% to 22.1% across South Korea. The finale overtook Reply 1988 as the highest average viewer ratings among Korean cable dramas.

A 15-second advertisement is said to have cost 13.8 million won (11,800 USD).

In Kim Eun Sook’s fantasy television series, Gong Yoo stars as Kim Shin, an immortal goblin and protector as souls. Lee Dong-wook plays an amnesiac grim reaper who helps Gong Yoo to take deceased souls to the afterlife. The show also stars Kim Go-eun as Ji Eun-tak who has the ability to see ghosts and is destined to be Kim Shin’s bride.
