After nearly a decade away from acting, Kim Taehyung—better known as BTS member V—is finally returning to the screen. His comeback, however, arrives not through a grand drama but in the form of an atmospheric short film titled That Night, Our Decaf, created in collaboration with Compose Coffee.

The teasers and poster for the project, released earlier this week, have already stirred excitement among fans eager to see Taehyung step back into a narrative role. The short film will premiere on April 10, 2026, available exclusively through Compose Coffee’s official digital platforms and social media channels.

According to early details, That Night, Our Decaf opens with Taehyung’s character entering a café late at night and ordering a decaf coffee—a small, simple gesture that sets the tone for a quiet story. A woman soon arrives and orders the same drink, sparking a wordless yet meaningful moment between the two. The narrative reportedly follows two students whose late-night meeting connects their lives in unexpected ways.

The teaser’s caption, “That night, our own story begins,” hints at themes of intimacy and unspoken emotion rather than sweeping plot twists. It’s a fitting tone for an actor known for his understated expressiveness and gentle screen presence.

While technically part of Taehyung’s ongoing partnership with Compose Coffee, the project leans more cinematic than commercial. The collaboration dates back to 2023, when V joined as the brand’s ambassador and participated in a creative campaign titled V COMPOSED, directed by Yu Kwang-geong. The director previously noted that Taehyung improvised several scenes himself—a glimpse into his hands-on approach that fans celebrated online.

This latest project deepens that collaboration, blurring the line between brand storytelling and artful short film. For many fans, it’s less about advertising coffee than watching V rediscover his craft as an actor.

The film’s release coincides with BTS’s hectic comeback schedule. The group dropped their new album ARIRANG earlier this month and begins their world tour on April 9, just a day before the short film’s debut. That means fans will see Taehyung both commanding the stage and contemplating quiet emotion onscreen—all in the span of one monumental week.

Though brief, That Night, Our Decaf feels like a symbolic moment: a return to storytelling for one of K-pop’s most enigmatic figures, who continues to find new ways to express himself beyond music.
