Former The Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang is moving from zombies to psychological suspense. Amazon MGM Studios is developing a new series titled Never to Be Found, with Kang set to write and executive produce.
The project adapts an upcoming novel by Jo Spain, the author behind The Confession. While the book hits shelves in the UK on July 2, Amazon is already moving forward with the television version. Kang will lead the production alongside her partner Mandy Safavi through their company, Kang & Co Entertainment.

Never to Be Found centers on Veronica Page, a woman who gets mixed up with a suspected killer. The plot jumps between modern-day Brighton and York and flashbacks to London and Japan. As Veronica digs into the mystery, she has to face her own history of trauma.
The studio describes the show as a thriller that explores themes of disappearance and obsession. Author Jo Spain shared her excitement about the partnership on Instagram, stating, “In awe of Angela Kang and Mandy Safavi and the team at Amazon MGM. That book is in the best hands it could be in.”
Angela Kang’s Growing Slate at Amazon
This series is part of Kang’s multi-year deal with Amazon MGM Studios. She has stayed busy since leaving the main Walking Dead series. Kang is currently working on an adaptation of R.F. Kuang’s fantasy novel Katabasis.
Earlier, she was attached to the Silk: Spider Society live-action series, though Amazon eventually scrapped that project. She also remains an executive producer on the spinoff The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.
With Never to Be Found, Kang returns to grounded, character-driven tension. Fans of Spain’s novels can expect a faithful but fresh take on the source material.
