Netflix has officially shared the first look at Beef Season 2, and the stakes have moved from a parking lot to a high-end country club. The teaser introduces a new cast of heavy hitters, with Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan playing a married couple whose private meltdowns spark a massive war with two younger employees.
The new season arrives on April 16, 2026, nearly three years after the first season became a global hit. While the original story followed a road rage incident between strangers, Season 2 focuses on “internalized rage” within the workplace.

The story takes place at Monte Vista Point, an exclusive club where the wealthy pay for “the illusion that everything is okay.” Isaac plays the general manager, Joshua Martín, while Cailee Spaeny and Charles Melton play Ashley and Austin, a Gen Z couple working under him.
The “beef” starts when Ashley and Austin witness a brutal, explosive fight between Joshua and his wife, Lindsay (Mulligan). After being caught watching the argument through a window, the younger couple flees into the woods, kicking off a series of retaliatory moves.

Creator Lee Sung Jin says the story is based on a real event from his life. “We’ve all been seen at our worst in the privacy of our own home,” Lee explained. He added that this season is more about “passive-aggressive” internal repression.

A major theme this season is the gap between the millennial managers and their Gen Z staff. Lee wanted to move away from the typical “Boomer vs. Millennial” trope to show how people closer in age clash.
“Austin and Ashley think all they need is each other and the beach,” Lee said. “It’ll be interesting to see with these two how they react to life’s first real struggles.”
Vying for the Chairwoman’s Favor
Both couples will spend the eight-episode season trying to gain the upper hand by winning over the club’s billionaire owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh-jung). However, the Chairwoman has her own problems. Her husband, Doctor Kim (Song Kang-ho), appears in the trailer with bloodstained clothes, suggesting a scandal is brewing at the top of the social ladder.
The cast also includes William Fichtner, Mikaela Hoover, and rapper BM. All eight episodes will drop at once, produced again by A24.
