Netflix has officially ordered a new adult animated series titled Dang!, bringing together a cast led by Stephanie Hsu and Poppy Liu. The show comes from the minds behind The Good Place, with Andrew Law and Matt Murray serving as showrunners and Mike Schur attached as executive producer.
The series centres on the lives of a brother and sister in New York City, played by Law and Liu. Their relaxed and somewhat chaotic lifestyle is thrown into turmoil when their biggest fear comes true: their high-achieving older sister, voiced by Hsu, arrives in town and insists on spending time with them.

The project marks a significant reunion for its creative team. Andrew Law and Matt Murray previously worked with Mike Schur on several celebrated comedies, including Parks and Recreation and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Netflix’s Vice President of Animation, John Derderian, described the team as experts in finding humour within complicated family dynamics. “With Dang!, they tackle the relatable chaos of sibling rivalry, brought to life by the undeniable chemistry of Andrew Law, Poppy Liu, and Stephanie Hsu,” Derderian said.

Both leading women come to the project following major career milestones. Stephanie Hsu, who gained global recognition for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once, is also returning to the stage. She will soon lead the Broadway revival of The Rocky Horror Show at Studio 54.
Poppy Liu has become a familiar face to comedy fans through her work on Hacks and the series His & Hers. In Dang!, Liu plays the younger sister whose “fun and messy” life provides much of the show’s comedic conflict.

The animation for the series is being handled by Titmouse, the studio behind popular hits like Big Mouth and The Legend of Vox Machina. Universal Television is producing the show under Schur’s current overall deal.
Andrew Law expressed his excitement about the partnership, noting his hopes that audiences will connect with the characters. “We hope that you fall in love with these characters,” Law said. “Or at least find them very, very attractive.”
The series is scheduled to arrive on the streaming platform in late 2026, joining a slate of upcoming adult animations that includes Long Story Short and Haunted Hotel.
