Lisa, the global superstar and member of Blackpink, has secured a leading role in an upcoming Netflix romantic comedy. The project marks another significant step in her transition into acting following her debut in the third season of The White Lotus.

The film will see Lisa reunite with executive producer David Bernad. The pair reportedly developed the idea while working together in Thailand. According to sources, the concept was born from a shared love for the 1999 hit Notting Hill, which starred Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant.

While the specific plot remains a secret, Netflix has recruited seasoned writer Katie Silberman to pen the script. Silberman is well-known for her work on successful comedies such as Booksmart and the Netflix hit Set It Up.

Silberman will also serve as a producer alongside Bernad’s Middle Child Productions. Lisa is set to take on an executive producer role for the project, further expanding her influence in the entertainment industry.

From the stage to the screen

Lisa’s move into Hollywood follows a record-breaking career in music. As a member of Blackpink, she helped the group become one of the best-selling girl groups in history. Her solo work has also been highly successful, with her 2025 album Alter Ego reaching the top of the Billboard charts.

This new Netflix project adds to an increasingly busy acting schedule for the artist. She is also appearing in TYGO, a new film set within the Extraction action universe.

In her recent screen work, Lisa played Mook in The White Lotus, a role that helped establish her as a serious contender in the acting world. She also recently appeared as a presenter at the Golden Globe Awards, further cementing her status in the US film and television industry.

The upcoming romantic comedy is expected to start production later this year, though a release date has not yet been confirmed by Netflix.
