Koei Tecmo is bringing back one of the most beloved entries in the hack-and-slash genre: Dynasty Warriors 3. The publisher announced that Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is in development and will launch on March 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5. It has also been confirmed for Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

1 vs. 1,000 Just Got an Upgrade

This isn’t just a slight touch-up. The entire game is being rebuilt using Unreal Engine 5, promising a massive visual leap for the PS2 classic. The original 2001 title established many of the features that would define the entire series, including True Musou, two-player simultaneous play, and the in-depth officer development system.

Tomohiko Sho, the producer and Head of Omega Force, confirmed the scope of the project. “We are pleased to announce that the fan-favorite (and our most requested remaster) Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is not only in development, it will launch March 2026!” Sho said.

The “Complete Edition” lives up to its name, packing in all the content from the original Dynasty Warriors 3 and its standalone expansion, Xtreme Legends. This means more scenarios, playable officers, and weapons are included right out of the gate.

While the goal is to “preserve the core experience of the original,” the developers have refined the gameplay mechanics and UI to ensure a “more comfortable and enjoyable experience” for modern systems. You’ll still be experiencing the exhilarating 1 vs. 1,000 battles across the vast battlefields of the Three Kingdoms, now in stunning high fidelity.

We look forward to sharing more updates with you soon!”

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is set to launch on March 19, 2026, across all major platforms.
