It’s a scene you’d expect from a rowdy pub, not a swanky Manhattan apartment building. But a video has emerged showing “wellness guru” Matthew Sauerhoff, who dishes out fitness advice on NBC’s Today show, unleashing a torrent of abuse at celebrity chef Eddie Huang, all because he was asked to put his dog on a leash.

Huang, the man behind hit shows and cookbooks, found himself on the receiving end of Sauerhoff’s shocking outburst in their shared Murray Hill building. Huang, rightly concerned his leashed Doberman might clash with Sauerhoff’s unleashed pet, simply asked his neighbour to do the decent thing. What followed was a masterclass in entitled rage.

“Who the f*** is this guy? Who is this motherf*****?” Sauerhoff roared, according to Huang’s own video. The footage, now circulating online, shows Sauerhoff, who claims to be a “performance coach, motivator and life enthusiast,” pointing his finger and spewing expletives like a common thug.

“Get off the private property,” he yelled, despite Huang also being a resident. “Get the f*** out of here.” The sheer audacity of the man, who has appeared on national television preaching healthy living, is staggering.

Huang, understandably stunned, tried to reason with Sauerhoff, explaining he lived there too. But the fitness fanatic, who boasts “excellent interpersonal communication skills” on his LinkedIn profile, was having none of it. He dismissed Huang’s claims, telling a doorman, “He doesn’t know who you are,” before returning to his foul-mouthed tirade.

“Dude, f*** you,” Sauerhoff snapped, before yelling his address, “East 41a, that’s my f***ing name. Suck a d*** dude, f*** off,” as he stormed towards the elevators.

The hypocrisy of Sauerhoff’s behaviour is breathtaking. This is a man who claims his “goal in life is to leave a positive, lasting impression on every single person I meet.” Yet, when faced with a simple request from a fellow resident, he descends into a vile, aggressive rant.

Huang, in his Substack post, suggested Sauerhoff might have assumed he was “a Chinese guy delivering Chinese food,” adding, “He assumes he’s more important than me, more privileged, and that he has the power to throw me off. It’s a lot to presume about yourself and another person.”

And it doesn’t stop there. Huang claims Sauerhoff’s mother-in-law, Dalia Krinsky, attempted to smooth things over the next day by mentioning her husband, Barry Krinsky, is a judge. “My husband is a judge, you see him,” she reportedly said, a statement Huang interpreted as a thinly veiled threat. Krinsky denies this, claiming they “come in peace.”
