Lynn Ban, the celebrated jewellery designer and star of Netflix’s Bling Empire: New York, has died at the age of 51. Her death follows a tragic skiing accident on Christmas Eve that resulted in a brain bleed and emergency surgery.

Ban, known for her vibrant personality and exquisite designs favoured by celebrities like Rihanna and Beyoncé, was a beloved figure in both the fashion and reality TV worlds.  Her sudden passing has sent shockwaves through both communities, with tributes flooding social media.

“This is too much!!! Lynn you will always be our fairy godmother!” wrote Rihanna on Instagram. “Love you forever and always! Can’t believe I’m writing this in a comment section rn. Thank you for all the joy you brought to us!”

The accident occurred in Aspen, Colorado, where Ban was enjoying a festive break. Despite initially feeling well enough to ski to the bottom of the slope after a fall, she later developed a headache and was diagnosed with a brain bleed.  An emergency craniotomy was performed, but tragically, Ban passed away on Monday.

Her son, Sebastian, confirmed the news in a moving Instagram post, describing his mother as “the strongest woman I know” and “the funniest and coolest mum I could ever ask for.” He vowed to keep her memory alive and celebrate her life.

Ban’s journey, from her acclaimed jewellery career to her captivating presence on Bling Empire, touched countless lives. Her legacy as a talented artist and a loving mother will undoubtedly endure.
