BTS member J-Hope has made a generous donation of ₩100 million ($68,000 USD) to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association following the devastating Jeju Air Flight 2216 crash that claimed the lives of 179 people on December 29, 2024.

The K-Pop idol, known for his philanthropic efforts, expressed his condolences in a statement, saying, “Upon hearing the news of the accident, I decided to make this donation to help the bereaved families as much as I can. My heart goes out to those enduring this unimaginable pain.”

“I decided to make a donation to help the bereaved families after I heard about the incident. I would like to express my deepest condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families and everyone who is suffering from grief due to this incident,” he said in a statement.

J-Hope, a member of the “Hope Bridge Honors Club,” which recognizes high-value donors, has consistently shown his commitment to helping those in need. This latest act of kindness follows his previous donations to causes like flood relief efforts and support for animal shelters.

Fans have praised the star’s actions, with one commenting, “Sometimes actions speak louder than anything.. j-hope has been consistent in donating to charity and disaster relief funds..He is such inspiration and good role model.”

This donation comes amidst a period of national mourning in South Korea following the tragic accident, which is being called the deadliest aviation disaster in the country’s history.
