BLACKPINK’s Rosé has made a triumphant return to the music scene with her latest single, ‘Apt.’, a collaboration with American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars. Released on October 18th, 2024, as the first track from her upcoming debut solo album, Rosie, the song has quickly become a global sensation.

‘Apt.’ has already amassed over 100 million streams worldwide and topped charts in 51 countries, including Australia, France, and the Philippines. The song’s music video has garnered over 65 million views on YouTube, making it the fastest duet to reach 10 million views on the platform in 2024.

This success has earned the K-pop star her first Perfect All Kill (PAK) as a solo artist, with ‘Apt.’ reaching No. 1 on all major Korean music streaming platforms. The single also achieved the biggest debut by any artist in 2024, with over 21 million streams on Spotify.

The song’s title is a nod to Rosé’s favorite Korean drinking game, Apartment. “‘Apt.’ is actually my favorite Korean drinking game that I play with my friends back home,” Rosé explained through her agency, The Black Label.

“It’s so simple, puts a smile on your face and breaks the ice at any party. One night in the studio, I taught my crew how to play the game. Everyone was fascinated, especially when I started the chant, so we played around with it and I said we should make a song out of it… and after Bruno joined the track, the rest became history!”

Rosé has described Rosie as “a little journal” of her experiences. “I have poured my blood and tears into this album,” she shared in an Instagram post. “I cannot wait for you to listen to this little journal of mine. ‘Rosie’ – is the name I allow my friends and family to call me. With this album, I hope you all feel that much closer to me.”

Rosie is set for release on December 6th, 2024 and will feature 12 tracks. With ‘Apt.’ already breaking records, anticipation for the full album is high.
