Canada gave a Kim’s Convenience shirt to South Korea at the G20 in Osaka
South Korean President Moon Jae-in was presented with a Kim’s Convenience T-shirt from Canada at the G20 in Osaka.
With a smile, Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland proudly held up the white shirt that sported the TV show’s logo as officials from both countries met.
Jae-in laughed and applauded the gift before shaking hands with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The Korean-Canadian sitcom debuted in January, airing two episodes per week on TV Chosun.
Kim’s Convenience star Simu Liu caught wind of the exchange and tweeted, “So apparently @JustinTrudeau gave @moonriver365 (President of South Korea) a Kim’s Convenience T shirt?!?!”
