"Being a part of the Pixar family is even better than I could have ever imagined"

Keanu Reeves and Ally Maki have voiced characters for Toy Story 4.

Slash Film reports that new characters introduced in Toy Story 4 were voiced by Keanu Reeves and Ally Maki.

On Tuesday, a new trailer for Toy Story 4 surfaced online, providing formation about the upcoming Pixar film’s plot and characters.

Maki voices Giggle McDimples – a 1980’s miniature plastic police officer and Bo Peep’s best friend.

Director Josh Cooley said of the character, “Giggle is Bo’s Jiminy Cricket—we’re able to get insight on Bo through their relationship together. Giggle is definitely the smallest toy in the Toy Story universe. She’s been stepped on, vacuumed up, and probably put up a kid’s nose in her time. Giggle McDimples literally pops on the screen because of Ally’s personality and infectious energy. Nobody can laugh like Ally Maki.”

On Instagram, Maki wrote that her experience working on Toy Story 4 was better than she could have imagined.

“Being a part of the Pixar family is even better than I could have ever imagined (so much so that I still believe I’m being Punk’d.) ,” she said.

“I hope she shows you that even if you feel small in a big world, you can use your voice in a big way and be a leader,” she continued.

THE SECRET IS FINALLY OUT!!!!! After TWO years of living a secret @pixar life, I can finally announce that I have joined the cast of @toystory as the smallest toy in the history of the Toy Story UNIVERSE. The iconic Giggle McDimples!!!! She’s fierce, feisty and the most full of life BOSS babe you will ever meet. I CAN’T EVEN BELIEVE THIS IS REAL RIGHT NOW. CRYING. AHHHH!!! ACTUALLY FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW. Doesn’t feel real. I was raised by these films. My fourteen year old little Asian American self found voice, identity and friendship in Buzz, Woody and the whole TS gang. ⁣ ⁣ Being a part of the Pixar family is even better than I could have ever imagined (so much so that I still believe I’m being Punk’d.) I couldn’t be more grateful to Cooley, Jonas and the whole TS4 family who have literally become like family to me. GENIUSES. Can’t wait to share every part of this incredible adventure with you….the whole recording process, my giant vintage Polly Pocket collection and the first time I met @tomhanks with giant pimple in tow. You are just going to love Giggle. I can’t gush enough. I hope she shows you that even if you feel small in a big world, you can use your voice in a big way and be a leader. 🥳🔥😱✌🏼 #toystory4 #pixar #gigglemcdimples #bossbabe

Reeves voices Duke Caboom – a 1970’s toy based on a Canadian stuntman. Unlike his real-life counterpart, Duke is unable to pull off stunts shown in his commercial and ends up on the shelves of an antique store.

Producer Jonas Rivera said, “The first time Josh [Cooley] and I talked with Keanu about the role, Keanu became Duke Caboom. Keanu was asking great questions that dug deep to find the soul of the character. At one point he stood up on the table in the middle of Pixar’s atrium and struck poses while proclaiming victory. It was so funny. It’s all in the movie and it’s all Keanu.”

Other new characters include Forky (Tony Hale) and Gabby Gabby (Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks).

According to the official synopsis, Toy Story 4 will show Woody (Tom Hanks) showing Bonnie’s new craft-project-turned-toy Forky what it means to be a toy. However, when Bonnie takes the toys on a family trip, Woody lands himself into his own adventure where he is reunited with Bo Peep, who has become detached from her previous toy life.

In other news, it was recently revealed that Reeves has been secretly financing children’s hospitals.
